2013 Season
2013 Season Dates

The 2013 Season begins on Monday, July 29.

Practice will generally take place from 6:00 - 8:30 PM, Monday - Thursday until school
starts and then will generally take place from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday.

WJW Kickoff BBQ on Saturday, August 10 from 11 AM - 1 PM*
Jamborees will be on Saturday, August 17.
Games will be every Saturday starting August 24.
The season will end no later than Saturday, November 16.

June 19 - 21 Evening Camp ($60 - WHS Fundraiser)*

Friday, July 12 - Sunday, July 14 - Overnight Camp for JM & MID at Sac State
Friday, July 26 - Sunday, July 28 - Camp for MM, JP, & PW

Registration is now open for a summer cheer camp being held at Whitney High School. This is a great way to prepare for the 2013 season and is a fundraiser for the WHS cheerleading program.

Summer Football Clinics

Registration is now open for two summer football events being held at Whitney High School.  This is a great way to prepare for the 2013 season or to see what youth football is all about!  Both events will be lead by coaches from WJW and WHS.

2013 Financial Assistance

The WJW Board of Directors is committed to keeping program costs reasonable. With that said, youth football and cheer have costs that may be difficult for some families to afford. Each year, the WJW Board of Directors will budget funds to make available to those qualifying for financial assistance to help offset registration fees.

If you are interested in WJW financial assistance for the 2013 season, please review the documents below.  Applicants need to fill out the online application available in our registration area by the due date.

2013 Maroon Comp Cheer Squad - CHAMPIONS

Our maroon competition cheer squad (ages 11-14) started practicing in December for the competition season that culminated in their performances at USA Nationals at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim on 3/2.

Not only did the WJW squad take first place in their division, but they were declared the Grand Champions of the competition for receiving the highest score of all the competing squads. That consisted of over 70 squads from all over California, including those from Southern California, the Bay Area, and several local squads (Folsom, Rocklin, Oak Ridge, and Woodcreek).

This award is unprecedented for the Wildcats and came at the end of a long day that included a preliminary round performance at 11:00 AM and a finals performance at 7:00 PM.

Our gold squad (ages 7-9) wrapped up a successful competition season.
It was the first time any of the girls participated on a WJW competition squad.

2012 Season Wrap-up

WJW Families -

As our 2012 season comes to a close, I want to thank all of the volunteers who have worked so hard to make our organization what it is today. This year, we had more than 45 coaches and 25 staff members collectively give thousands of hours of their time for our children.

As all of our participants were developing their football and cheerleading skills, learning about character, and enjoying being part of the WJW family, we also enjoyed some nice success on the field and on the mats! This was capped off with our JM football team winning the D1 championship. Only two other organizations in our league can claim a D1 championship!

The work taking place behind the scenes is year round. We'll have end of the season meetings in December at an organization and league level. Then, in January, we'll begin planning for our 2013 season, starting with head coach selections.

We have several staff member positions open next year. If you'd like to join us in one of these rewarding positions, please check our website for details and/or contact a board member.

Our 2012 season survey will be open until the beginning of January. Please take a few minutes to fill one out for each child you have in our program. Survey results are viewed only by the WJW board of directors and are used to help plan next season.
